David William Donald Cameron is the current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Among being the Prime Minister he is also the First Lord of the Treasury, and Minister of the Civil Service. David wasn’t just handed the Prime Minister spot he had to work for it, he studied at Oxford and was also the director of Corporate Affairs at Carlton Communication for about seven years. In 2001 he was elected as a Member of Parliament then Cameron was named party leader in 2005. David came out as the prime minister in 2010 making him the youngest British Prime Minister since Lord Liverpool in 1812. After his appointment he was asked by Queen Elizabeth ll to form a new government as Prime Minister. Now David was faced with a budget deficit, high unemployment and very slow economic recovery. David’s attitude towards politics has always been making sure the people are in control and the politicians were their servants. He put that to use when solving the budget deficit, high unemployment and slow economic recovery in his first few months as Prime Minister he went out in a bold direction establishing health and welfare reform, and giving the people more power and control over their lives.
David and Diplomacy
One thing that a leader must do is demonstrate diplomacy; leaders must learn to get along with people from all over the world. David might have a problem with diplomacy, when Cameron went toTurkey he accused Israel of allowing Gaza to be a “prison camp”. Also in India he made this comment about Pakistan; "we cannot tolerate in any sense the idea that [Pakistan] is allowed to look both ways and is able, in any way, to promote the export of terror". Many say the David went too far when talking about Pakistan. Cameron said that he was just speaking plainly. Even though David might be a great leader within the UK, he lacks the skill of diplomacy thus making other countries less willing to do what the UK might ask.
